Description

Our client, a leading global asset management firm, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Management Company Accounting team.

The firm employs a multi-strategy, multi-asset class investment approach across the credit spectrum and manages significant AUM across alternative credit, structured products, CLOs, and private credit strategies.

This role will focus on all aspects of management company accounting, including maintaining books and records for both domestic and foreign offices.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong in GAAP, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities: Manage the month-end close process, including: Bank reconciliations Balance sheet reconciliations Fixed asset depreciation and prepaid amortization Expense accruals Revenue reconciliation to underlying funds Monitor and follow up on management and performance fee receivables Review expense reports and consolidate foreign office results Coordinate with third-party accountants supporting foreign offices (bank statements, invoices, intercompany activity, HRMC notices, etc.) Prepare expense variance analysis with supporting schedules Oversee daily management company cash activity Review corporate card transactions and assess sales & use tax where applicable Assist with expense budgeting and forecasting across offices Support foreign office audit processes, quarterly VAT filings, corporate tax payments, and regulatory filings (e.g., ICARA/FCA) Maintain and update vendor contracts, including usage tracking and database management Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and other ad hoc projects Qualifications: 2+ years of accounting experience Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including consolidation principles Experience with accounts payable, general ledger systems, and corporate accounting procedures Asset management or financial services industry experience preferred Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills High level of attention to detail and ability to multitask Professional communication skills with internal teams and vendors Advanced Excel and Word skills; experience with Sage Intacct is a plus This is a strong opportunity to join a well-established investment firm and gain broad exposure across management company accounting in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
