The Department of the House of Representatives is seeking applications from those interested in directly supporting the work of the House of Representatives and members of Parliament at Parliament House in Canberra.
About the department The Department of the House of Representatives provides services to support the efficient conduct of the House of Representatives, its committees and certain joint committees, and provides a range of services and facilities for Members of Parliament in Parliament House.
The department also promotes the work of the House in the community and supports the conduct of the Parliament’s international and regional relations.
About the role The Senior Visits Officer will plan, manage, and coordinate arrangements for parliamentary delegations and provide secretariat support to the Parliament’s membership of international parliamentary organisations.
The role involves liaison with parliamentarians and their staff, diplomatic representatives, other Parliamentary and Commonwealth departments, and state and territory parliaments in relation to inter-parliamentary activities and events.
Experience in delegation coordination, event coordination, and the delivery of high-level visits is highly desirable.
The Officer will be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and have a high level of administrative and organisational capability.
Some travel will be required.
