Network Engineer | 170k Bonus | Hybrid 2 days a week in Manhattan What you'll get Work with cutting-edge network hardware and ultra-low-latency tech High autonomy, high visibility, and direct collaboration with trading leadership Competitive compensation packages are typical of NYC financial engineering teams What You’ll Do Architect and optimize low-latency network topologies for high-frequency and algorithmic trading workloads Engineer deterministic, high-performance connectivity between exchanges, colocation data centers, and trading systems Tune routing at an expert level using BGP, OSPF, multicast, and custom latency-optimized configurations Reduce hop count, jitter, and microburst issues through selective hardware choices, tuning, buffer management, and NIC optimization Support low-latency hardware: Arista, Cisco Nexus, Juniper QFX, Exablaze, Solarflare/Mellanox Improve multicast distribution performance for market data feeds Lead L3 escalations for complex routing, packet flow, microburst, and throughput issues Implement circuit upgrades (10/40/100G) and optimize cross-connects inside colo facilities Collaborate with trading teams to benchmark performance and shave microseconds off critical paths Use packet capture tools (Corvil/Viavi, ExaNIC, Scapy, tcpdump) for forensic and performance tuning analysis Develop automation for deployment, monitoring, and configuration using Python, Ansible, Go, or similar Manage relationships with Tier 1 carriers, dark fiber providers, and exchange connectivity teams Ensure fault-tolerance and rapid failover for trading-critical infrastructure What We’re Looking For 7–12+ years of deep hands-on network engineering experience Strong background in financial services, trading, or exchange/colo networking Expert-level understanding of: Low-latency switching (Arista 7150/7280, Juniper QFX, Cisco Nexus) Routing protocols optimized for deterministic behavior Multicast market data distribution (PIM-SM, IGMP, UDP tuning) Layer 1/Layer 0 connectivity (DWDM, dark fiber, cross-connects) Experience with colo environments like Equinix, NY4/NY5, CH2, LD4 Hands-on experience with: Packet capture / real-time performance tools (Corvil, Exablaze, Solarflare, Novaflow) Network jitter/burst mitigation Latency benchmarking and analytics Strong scripting/automation: Python, Ansible, or Go Financial market infrastructure experience strongly preferred Certifications (nice to have): CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE, Arista ACE, NSE 7/8 Click the button below to apply!
