Identity Security Engineer New York, NY Join our team as a Jr.
Identity Security Engineer and support the Director of Identity Security in maintaining and enhancing identity-based cybersecurity controls across the organization.
This role helps safeguard employee and consumer identities across a large-scale, enterprise environment.
Responsibilities Compliance & Integrity Follow applicable laws, regulations, and internal security policies Act with integrity and professionalism in all tasks and interactions Application Management Assist in identifying and managing unsanctioned or shadow applications used within the organization Support implementation of single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and user provisioning/deprovisioning processes Application Enrollment & Access Assist with enrolling SSO-enabled applications into internal access platforms Facilitate employee access requests and help automate approval workflows to ensure timely provisioning of applications and permissions Request Handling Track and process requests related to application assignments, integrations, API scopes, service accounts, and developer access Security Incident Prevention Support proactive efforts to prevent security incidents by analyzing identity-related risks Document and communicate actionable remediation steps to relevant stakeholders Attack Mitigation Assist in identifying and responding to potential security threats Support implementation of security enhancements aligned with industry best practices Policy & Configuration Management Help assess and implement security policy and configuration updates Update Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems as required Security Solutions Development Contribute to planning and communication for new security solutions Assist with proof-of-concept (POC) testing and technical evaluations Continuous Learning Stay current on MITRE Telecommunication&CK tactics and identity-based threat techniques Monitor industry trends and emerging risks in Information Security Qualifications & Skills Education Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field Technical Knowledge Basic understanding of Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and LDAP Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions is a plus Knowledge of authentication and authorization protocols such as SSL/TLS, SAML, OAuth, SCIM, XML Signing & Encryption, and JWT Understanding of web security concepts including CORS, CSP, cookies, and local storage Technical Abilities Ability to execute tasks accurately while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly Basic scripting skills (Bash, Python) and familiarity with JSON and XML Experience interacting with REST or GraphQL APIs using tools like Postman or Insomnia is a plus Certifications & Experience Professional training or certifications in Identity and Access Management are a plus Previous experience in an entry-level security role or technical information security consulting is beneficial but not required Personal Attributes Strong desire to learn and grow in identity security Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment Compensation: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
