You’ll take ownership of managing complaints under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR), including cases raised by individuals or referred by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Your expertise will guide the Department on compliance, best practice, and policy, ensuring that FOI requests and internal reviews are handled thoroughly and fairly.

You Will Be Responsible For: Investigating and resolving FOI complaints by gathering evidence and assessing compliance with statutory provisions.

Analysing complex cases against ICO guidance, legal advice, and established precedent to ensure robust decision-making.

Advising and challenging FOI focal points to drive compliance and strengthen the Department’s position.
