Description
Position: Database Platform Engineer Type: Full-time position Compensation: $160K–$300K per year Location: San Francisco, CA Commitment: Full-time Role Responsibilities Own the performance, scalability, and reliability of production database systems.
Design, scale, and maintain high-availability Amazon RDS (MySQL) clusters.
Optimize queries, indexes, and schemas to support low-latency workloads at scale.
Build and maintain observability for database health, including monitoring, alerting, and performance dashboards.
Manage backups, restores, failovers, and disaster recovery processes.
Collaborate with engineers to improve data models, migrations, and query patterns.
Introduce automation for routine database operations such as patching, scaling, and parameter tuning.
Enforce security best practices, including IAM roles, encryption, auditing, and least-privilege access.
